Last Call for artists to pitch at Ligatura 2014 and perhaps get published

Ligatura 2014

The organisers of Poland’s Ligatura Comics Festival have issued a last call for pitches from artists for Ligatura 2014, with selected artists getting the chance to travel to Poland to pitch their work. You’ll have to be quick, though, because submissions must be received by 28th July 2014.

Ligatura Pitchings 2014” is a series of meetings of artists in Poznań, Poland, with an international jury, which will judge artists comics projects, from which that jury will then decide on the most interesting artist and publish the winner’s work or works. The meeting are short, five-minutes long presentations of ideas for an album, series or a shorter comics form, but take place during the Ligatura Festival, so it’s a good opportunity to meet creators from that part of Europe as well as perhaps secure a publishing deal!

The presentations may also be a mixed media presentation, a presentation of drafts or finished storyboards or a scenario.

Only 10 artists will be chosen among all the applications and invited to take part in the Ligatura Pitchings, who will be reimbursed for the costs of travel to Poznań, Poland, and will have accommodation during the Ligatura Comic Culture Festival, which runs from 8th – 10th August.

• LIGATURA Pitchings will be held 9th August, 2014 in the seat of Tłusta Langusta. Entrance only for accredited guests invited by the organizers. Arists can apply to LIGATURA Pitchings till 28th July, 2014. Please visit: http://www.ligatura.eu/eng/ligatura-pitching-form for more information
