If you’re a fan of the legendary comic creator Moebius, you may want to try and get your hands on the latest issue of the French magazine, Les cahiers de la BD (Number 18, April-June 2022), on sale now in France.
A title dedicated to Jean Giraud “Moebius”, who died ten years ago last month, made with the support of Mœbius Productions, the issue includes a rare three-page interview published for the first time in its entirety, by Benoît Mouchart, and some rare drawings including some unreleased and personal photographs never shown until now.
The issue also includes a large feature on the relationship between comic books and video games by Jean Samuel Kriegk, an interview from Peter Bagge on the occasion of the imminent release of Hate at Éditions Revival, and a Heroic Notebook by Pierrick Desfontaine on Thorgal, Largo Winch and XIII.
Plus, there’s an interview pages with Valentin Rodriguez , instigator of the exhibition “Cases départ” at Institut français du Cambodge.
Les Cahiers de la BD was first published in 1969, the initiative of a teenage Jacques Glénat. Initially more of a fanzine, titled Schtroumpf, it subsequently expanded, becoming Schtroumpf: les Cahiers de la Bande Dessinée, then was renamed Les Cahiers de la Bande Dessinée in 1984. Subsequent editors were Thierry Groensteen and Numa Sadoul , the title going on hiatus in 1990, but revived in recent years.
• Les Cahiers de la BD is available from various French web stores, including FNAC
