The team behind the brilliant action adventure anthology Paragon have announced the impending publication of a Paragon Annual for 2015, something of a homage to their love of British Christmas annuals of yesteryear.
Due to be released next month, the Annual will feature some old favourites in new adventures, new characters, new artists, new writers “and the return of one character you probably didn’t expect to see back,” says editor Davey Candlish. “This is going to be great!”
Davey reveals his decision to publish an annual was spurred on by the major British comic publishers release of comic annuals this year – even if some had only limited distribution. While The Beano, The Dandy and Doctor Who are among major releases across the UK, DC Thomson have offered several specialist annuals such as Topper and Hotspur via their online shop, and Egmont have published a number of limited distribution annuals, available in key supermarkets – Roy of the Rovers and Battle among them.
“All this reminiscing made me decide that there will be a Paragon annual this year, so be sure to keep an eye on the title’s blog as I reveal details of all new tales starring Jikan, Spencer Nero, Bulldog and the return of an old favourite – Icarus Dangerous!” he enthuses.
The Paragon Annual 2015 is out in December via lulu.com, but while you’re waiting, you might want to shell out for the latest issue of the regular comic, Issue 17, which was released back in October, warpped in a stunning cover by Shaky Kane (with inks by Jim Campbell and colours by Owen Watts).
