Pat Mills “Ragtime Soldier” set to return, a successor to “Charley’s War”

ComicScene has announced writer Pat Mills and 2000AD artist Gary Welsh are to work with them in the New Year to complete “Ragtime Soldier“, the strip Pat’s called his “successor to ‘Charley’s War’”.

The continuation of the strip that started in the Great War Dundee comic, which was given away free in ComicScene, the pre-launch page for the crowdfunder will be launched in the New Year, so you can enlist to gain a copy of this exciting one off 48-page comic.

Working alongside editors and consulting editors Philip Vaughan and Chris Murray this book will celebrate 50 years of Battle Picture Weekly and 200 years of comics in Britain, which began in 1825 with publication of The Glasgow Looking Glass (later The Northern Looking Glass).

Working with artist Joe Colquhoun, Pat Mills created “Charley’s War” for Battle Picture Weekly, an epic tale of World War One that proved one of its most memorable and highly regarded strips. The strip has been collected in several languages, including English, most recently by Rebellion.
