The fourth Strontium Dog volume published in Spanish by Dolmen Editorial is now available to order. Perro de Estroncio “La Solución Final” has been published primarily for the Spanish market and is a quality reprint of Rebellion’s The Final Solution, first collected back in April 2008.
A short while ago, Dolmen were undecided as to which cover the fans would prefer for the volume and asked them via social media – an unusual but thoughtful decision. The choices were the penultimate image of Johnny with no eyes from 2000AD prog 684, by Colin MacNeil, or an action shot of Johnny with electronux flaring, by Simon Harrison, originally the cover of 2000AD prog 640.
The editors decided to go with Colin’s art – as did Rebellion for their Final Solution collection, back in 2010 – and I have to say it certainly makes a very bold cover image indeed.
If you are a completist, like myself, I’m sure this volume will be another to stand proud in your collection. Even if they aren’t presented in your mother tongue, they still look fabulous on your bookshelf thanks to Dolmen making sure their releases are uniform in appearance.
“Better if you’d never found me. Well, I can rectify that…”
Dolmen are providing high quality reprints of the Strontium Dog stories and all of the stories in this volume are available for the first time to Spanish and foreign readers, which is just brilliant. I’m sure Carlos Ezquerra would be proud to see his work available in his native language to his own countrymen.
