2000AD has released a series of teaser images for many of its new strips, set for publication in the weekly SF comic and Judge Dredd Megazine, including a new creator owned story from Paul Grist and a new Slaine tale from Pat Mills and Simon ‘S.B.’ Davis…
Supernatural action in Hell Town for Nicodemus, or as his friends call him, Nic…Demon Nic! A creator-owned series by hero of UK small-press comics, Paul Grist (Kane, Jack Staff). Coming to the Judge Dredd Megazine later this year.
Dark Justice – the long awaited John Wagner (Judge Dredd, A History Of Violence)/Greg Staples (Judge Dredd, cover artist) series featuring the terrifying ageless malevolence of Judge Death and his cohorts, the other Dark Judges: Fear, Fire, Mortis, as well as the exquisitely evil Sisters Of Death, Phobia and Nausea. Just the prospect of these infernal insurgents loose in the city again is enough to send a shiver up the spine of every Mega-Citizen and member of Justice Department!
Greysuit: Prince Of Darkness – Rogue enhanced British agent, John Blake has escaped from the top secret Greysuit programme (akin to the US’ “Men-In-Black”), in this follow-up to first series Project Monarch from Pat Mills (Nemesis the Warlock, Requiem Vampire Knight, Marshall Law) and John Higgins (Judge Dredd, Thunderbolt Jaxon).
Judge Dredd: Trauma Town – New Judge Dredd story from 90’s favourite art droid, Nick Percival and regular Judge Dredd scribe, Michael Carroll.
Lawless – What happens to street Judges when they get too old to perform their duties? Well.. usually they have pretty limited options – perhaps a nice cushy desk job, or taking a position at the Academy of Law teaching young Cadets, but this mainly applies to those that have been invalided out; more often Senior Judges with 30+ years on the mean streets of Mega-City One, whose reflexes may have slightly dulled, opt to take the “Long Walk”; leaving the city’s environs, either to the subterranean world below MC-1, known as the Undercity, or the vast hazardous radioactive wasteland beyond the city’s walls, covering what was once middle America, the Cursed Earth; to bring Law to the Lawless!
Written by Dan Abnett (Sinister Dexter, Durham Red, Swamp Thing) and drawn by the excellent, Phil Winslade (Batman, Goddess), this series promises to be one to look forward to.
Outlier – Something murderous is on the path to vengeance in this sci-fi thriller Karl Richardson by T.C. Eglington (Tharg’s Future Shocks, Judge Dredd) and Karl Richardson (Judge Dredd, Grey Area).
Slaine: A Simple Killing – The new Slaine series is just around the corner, written of course by creator and all-round UK comics legend, Pat MIlls, with a brand new series artist, Simon ‘S.B.’ Davis (Sinister Dexter. Ampney Crucis Investigates), bringing Clint Langley’s dazzling digital art back to a more conventional fully-painted traditional approach, we await the series with interest…
