A major new “Judge Dredd” arrives this week, Nick Percival’s suitably creepy cover a dead giveaway that it’s a grim tale – as if “And to the Sea Return” hadn’t been dark enough for you all!
Plus, don’t miss out on The 2000AD Art Of Sean Phillips, an out now, featuring stories by Dan Abnett, Ian Edginton, John Smith, Dave Stone and John Wagner. It’s a fantastic collection, spotlighting the work of a proper trooper of an artist!

Following up on Progs 2418 – 2425’s story, “The Shift”, “Messengers” brings a dark warning for Dredd that’s going to have massive repercussions next year.
With “Death of a Judge” coming this January, it sounds like 2006 is going to be a Hell of a year for Dredd…
Plus, “Red Dragon” came to a powerful, double-length conclusion in 2000AD Prog 2460, too. The young Siadel Rhys has been through so much as this story has progressed, and now it’s time to connect the gap between “Red Dragon” and “Zenith”, the latter, of course, available in collection over four volumes, from Rebellion.

Crime is rampant, and only the Judges — empowered to dispense instant justice — can stop total anarchy. Toughest of them all is JUDGE DREDD — he is the Law! Now, the Judges are still dealing with the aftermath of the events at Elisa Lam block, when the Shift entered MC-1…

ROGUE TROOPER // GHOST PATROL
by Alex de Campi (Writer) Neil Edwards (Artist) Matt Soffe (Colourist) Jim Campbell (Letterer)
Nu Earth, site of a galactic war between the Norts and the Southers, where the atmosphere has been rendered poisonous. So the Southers created the Genetic Infantrymen, immune to the pollutants — G.I.s like ROGUE TROOPER, the last of his kind. Together with biochip buddies Helm, Gunnar and Bagman, the digitised souls of his dead comrades, he searches for the traitor that betrayed the clone-soldiers.

BRASS SUN // PAVANE
by Ian Edginton (Writer) INJ Culbard (Artist) Simon Bowland (Letterer)
The Orrery is a clockwork solar system, a clutch of planets orbiting a vast BRASS SUN, but the outer worlds are freezing as the sun dies. Young Wren was charged with finding the elements of the key that would restart the sun, and embarked on an epic quest with conductor novice Septimus. Now the two are separated, and Wren has partnered with Ariel O’Conner to fight back against the Enginemen…

RED DRAGON

Siadwell Rhys was once a member of sixties British superhero team Cloud 9, who operated under the name RED DRAGON. When they disbanded due to illness and loss of powers, Siadwell returned to his home village in Wales, where his heavy drinking caught up with him. Sean Phillips is the multi Eisner Award-winning artist of Criminal, Kill Or Be Killed, Reckless, Fatale, Night Fever, Pulp, Where The Body Was, The Fade Out, Velvet, Sleeper, Incognito, Marvel Zombies, Kid Eternity and Hellblazer.
In a career that has so far spanned more than 30 years, he has recieved awards and acclaim at every turn. But before his stand-out career in the US, Sean did some of his earliest work for 2000AD – The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic and its companion titles, Crisis and Judge Dredd Megazine.
He co-created fan-favourite characters Devlin Waugh and Armitage, as well as drawing for classic strips Judge Dredd and Sinister/Dexter.
The 2000AD Art Of Sean Phillips collection forms a retrospective of Phillips’ work for 2000AD and shows how his art evolved from the fully painted work and collage of the early 1990s, to the familiar style he employs on hit books today.
