British classic characters renewed in The Vigilant – variant cover revealed, signing announced

The Vigilant, the first title in the “Rebellion-verse” from 2000AD‘s publishers has already been announced as a one-shot title in August featuring classic British comic superheroes, but now, comics store Forbidden Planet has revealed its variant cover by Trevor Hairsine for the title.

When the evil forces of Von Hoffman and Dr Mesmer team up and pluck the immortal Adam Eterno from the winds of time, all of reality is under threat!

Only The Vigilant – a mighty team composed of super-beings, warlocks, warriors and monsters stand between us and total chaos! Join The Leopard from Lime Street, Steel Commando, Dr. Sin, Pete’s Pocket Army, Blake Edmonds, Yäo and Thunderbolt the Avenger on their premiere adventure.

London’s Forbidden Planet Megastore will be hosting a Vigilant signing on Saturday 18th August (1 – 2.00pm) with writer Simon Furman, and artists Simon Coleby

Available from newsagents in the UK on 15th August 2018, The Vigilant will also be available to order from all good comic book stores.

John Freeman

The founder of downthetubes, John describes himself as is a "freelance comics operative", working as an editor, as Creative Consultant on the Dan Dare audio adventures for B7 Media, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. John has worked in British comics publishing for over 30 years. His credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine at Marvel UK and Star Trek Magazine and Babylon 5 Magazine at Titan Magazines. He also edited STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics, including Team M.O.B.I.L.E. and The Beatles Story. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War and “Dan Dare” for Tian Books. He’s the writer of “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz, published on Tapastic; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood for digital comic 100% Biodegradable.
