Al Ewing will be signing the first issue of U.S. Avengers #1 at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on 4th January 2017 at 6.00pm – the day of the new Marvel title’s release worldwide.

U.S.Avengers, by Al Ewing and Paco Medina, will confound cartographers around the world on 4th January 2017 is being launched with a number of variants, including a Forbidden Planet Exclusive Captain Britain by Rod Reis.
This cover joins over 50 other unique variants reflecting the comic’s theme, with one Avenger assigned to each US state, plus Puerto Rico, Canada and Britain.
(Britain has of course been seen by some as another US state dating back to the writings of George Bernard Shaw).
Sam Wilson soars high over Maryland, Iron Man rockets across the golden state of California, Black Widow defends the constitution state of Connecticut, and Spectrum shines a light on evil in Louisiana.
Al Ewing has worked on a range of 2000AD characters, including “Judge Dredd”, “Zombo” and “Tharg’s Future Shocks”. He also has several novels in print and is also currently writing for a range of titles for Marvel Comics.

He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
