2000AD Prog 2483 welcomes the first Judge Dredd Mega-Epic storyline in years, as The Oubliette swallows Judge Dredd whole – trapping him in a supernatural prison with no sign of escape!
And while he’s trapped in The Oubliette, back in Mega-City One the general public have forgotten that Dredd ever existed, leading to Judge Rico, his clone-brother, taking Dredd’s place as top-cop in the Big Meg! Judge Dredd Megazine 492 follows Rico as he attempts to deal with the rise a sinister Black Tower in the middle of the city….
Two connected stories, and you can read either as a standalone! Put them together though, and you’ve got massive problems for Mega-City One. Death is going to rock Dredd’s world!
Plus, do not forget to pick up your copy of New Adventures from the Trigan Empire – Book One by Michael Carroll and Tom Foster! It’s a fantastic reboot of the classic SF adventure (reviewed here by Mighty Luke Williams) that you should not miss!

The third volume of the complete, acclaimed Slaine epic, presented in a new format for the definitive reading experience, perfect for new readers and collectors.
The Definitive line continues with the highly regarded fantasy saga Sláine. This reimagining of Celtic mythology mixed with sword-and-sorcery tropes stood out in the predominantly science fiction anthology 2000AD, and it proved to be a testing ground for many acclaimed artists.
In this third volume, the Celtic hero continues his arduous journey across Tir-Nan-Og, accompanied by his sidekick Ukko, and faces a slew of mighty warriors, vengeful gods, and legendary beasts in his quest to return to his tribe and claim his rightful place as king. This seminal epic by Pat Mills features the artwork of David Lloyd (V for Vendetta), Glenn Fabry (Hellblazer, Preacher), and Mike Collins (American Gothic).
Pat Mills is the creator and first editor of 2000AD. He developed Judge Dredd and is the writer-creator of many of 2000AD’s most popular stories such as Sláine, Nemesis and A.B.C. Warriors. Amongst his credits are Marshal Law (Marvel and DC Comics), co-created with Kevin O’Neill, the French graphic novel series Requiem, Vampire Knight with artist Olivier Ledroit, and Be Pure! Be Vigilant! Behave! The Secret History of 2000 AD and Judge Dredd. His current projects include Joe Pineapples: Tin Man, illustrated by Simon Bisley and Clint Langley, Spacewarp, and Kiss My Axe! The Secret History of Sláine the Warped Warrior.
Mike Collins is the illustrator and co-creator of American Gothic. He has also worked on Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper Sinister Dexter, Sláine and several Future Shocks.
Glenn Fabry is a classic 2000 AD artist, best known for his innovative and highly detailed work on Slaine, though he has also illustrated Judge Dredd and a Future Shock, not to mention part of the Batman/Judge Dredd crossover story ‘Die Laughing’. Fabry’s best-known work outside the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic is almost certainly the full run of covers he painted for Preacher. However, his career is split between covers and sequential work, and he ahs also contributed to A1, The Authority, Global Frequency, Hellblazer, The Scarab, Swamp Thing and Transmetropolitan.
British-born writer, artist and letterer Steve Parkhouse started his career at Marvel comics where he worked on Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Back in the UK he was one of the first artists to work on the acclaimed anthology Warrior, co-creating The Bojeffries Saga with writer Alan Moore and he also worked for Marvel UK, writing Night Raven which was illustrated by David Lloyd and The Black Knight – both of which ran in Hulk Weekly. Having enjoyed a successful run writing Dr. Who Weekly with Dave Gibbons on art chores, Steve also illustrated several strips for 2000 AD, including Judge Dredd, Luke Kirby and Morrison and Millar’s Big Dave.
