Keith Watson “Dan Dare”, Denis McLoughlin British comic art on offer on eBay

Spotted on eBay are a couple of British comic artworks for sale, including a framed “Dan DareEAGLE cover, published in 1969, drawn by Keith Watson.

The framed board was used on Eagle Volume 15, No 52, and sees Digby taken hostage after Dan Dare floors the Mekon.

I came across the artwork, priced at £1495, after downthetubes contributor Richard Sheaf drew my attention to some rare original western comic art from the same seller, by Denis McLoughlin.

Mountain Man” is an original double page artwork measuring 20 x 14 ins, drawn and painted by McLoughlin from the Buffalo Bill Wild West Annual No 8, (1956).

The seller is offering it as a “Buy it Now” for £2300, although there is the opportunity to make offers as well.

“If you’ve got pockets deep enough to afford this, then good luck to you – this would grace any comic art collection,” Richard notes on his Boys Adventure Comics Blog.
