There’s a new episode of ex-Marvel UK editor and writer Alan Cowsill’s podcast, Last Geek in Space, out in the wild, and this time he’s talking to three of the best female creators who worked for Marvel UK and Panini.
The episode has proven the most popular episode so far on day of release to date, so don’t miss it.
Maria Keane was colourist on Action Man, Spectacular Spider-Man and the early collector’s editions for Alan back in his Marvel UK/Panini days, while editor and writer Jenny Wackett and designer and group leader Ciara Mulvany helped bring the early Collector’s editions to life – and a few other things
As is usual for the Last Geek in Space podcast, they select the comics, magazines and artwork they’d take with them on a trip into space. But before they go, they share a number of stories about their time working for Marvel and Panini – including the infamous Doctor Who Magazine bomb incident, an exceptionally drunken Colombian house boat party and what it’s like to be a woman working in the publishing business.
If you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the doors of a comic company – here’s where you find out!
Last Geek in Space is a gem of a podcast, available over Spotify and through numerous podcast players. Well worth a listen!
