Belfast-based 2000AD fan group, Sector House 13, launch the second issue of their Sector 13 fanzine on Friday 3rd November from 7.30pm in their regular haunt of the Parlour bar on the city’s Elmwood Avenue.
Bigger, and more ambitious than their first effort, the second issue runs to 36 magazine-sized pages with the same mixture of colour and black and white strips, superb pin-ups and a couple of very special extras.
Back with two stories is up and coming writer W D McQuaid working with Patrick Brown, who should be much better known for his ‘Ulster Cycle’ comics – and Paul Malone, who provides stylish and atmospheric art for a Strontium Dog story.
The cosplayers of Sector House 13 supply another of their photo-stories produced by Laurence McKenna, working with Simon McKnight who also wrote and drew his own two page “Future Shock”.
The line-up of strips is completed by another “Future Shock” by Splank! blog editor Peter Duncan drawn by newcomer Jawine Westland.
The pin-ups this time round are better than ever with the highlight being Adam Brown’s superb Nemesis centre spread. An interview with artist Glenn Fabry, complete with a couple of wonderful self-portraits and a brand new strip from Oink! great Davy Francis round out the issue.

The Sector House 13 crew are ambitious and very active. They are always on the look-out for new writers or artists to work with. They have already started on their third issue but they welcome anyone who wants to get involved to come to join their Facebook group, attend their monthly meetings and supply work for either the Sector 13 Fanzine or their occasional Blog.
For those unable to attend the launch on Friday, Sector 13 issue 2 is available within the UK by sending £6.50 via paypal to Sector13@BoxofRainmag.co.uk.
A few copies of Issue One are still available and you can get both issues for £11 to the same address.
