Next Wednesday, 14th September 2016, sees the release of the first issue in Titan Comics brand new Doctor Who series – focusing on new adventures featuring the classic Third Doctor, as played by the legendary Jon Pertwee.
Fresh off last year’s epic smash-hit, Four Doctors, writer Paul Cornell (Wolverine, Action Comics) teams up with artist Christopher Jones (Young Justice, Marvel’s Avengers) to bring unexpected twists and turns to the lives of the Third Doctor and his companions in an all-new story, “The Heralds Of Destruction.”
Trust us – this is a loving visit to a hugely popular era of Doctor Who in its U.N.I.T. days, with all your favourite elements of that period, including The Master (as played by Roger Delgado on screen), with a glorious comics twist that not only serves as wonderful trip back to the 1970s, but has more than a fair few tips of the hat to the kind of Doctor Who comic older fans were reading back then in Countdown and TV Comic. It’s just… groovy (although I may be a little biased).
This hotly anticipated comic series launches next week and comes with five variant covers to collect plus two retailer exclusives from Forbidden Planet / Jetpack Comics and Diamond UK exclusive.
