An atmospheric cover from Jake Lynch sets the ball rolling for a change of focus in this week’s 2000AD, on sale today in all good Local Comic Shops, perhaps, now, the most reliable location to find the latest edition of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, with TG Jones store closures impacting availability in some towns and cities. Although taking out a subscription is, of course, another solution!

Prog 2485 sees 2000AD cut away from events in the mysterious Oubliette, where Judge Dredd is prisoner, to Mega-City One, for the first of what will be several “Finders” episodes. Yes, this issue is, technically, the first issue of 2000AD since 1977 where Dredd doesn’t appear – although, of course, dedicated Squaxx dek Thargo will point out he sort of does!
With Dredd strangely absent, and no one seemingly being able to remember the name, and the metropolis under psychic attack following the manifestation of the Black Tower (you’ve picked up Judge Dredd Megazine 492 right, still on sale, for details?), it falls upon former psi-Judge turned private invesigator Lana Locke, introduced in Prog 2470, to team up with fellow P.I. Joe Fargo and find out just what the drokk’s going on…
Elsewhere, joining “Helium”, “Silver” and “Brink” this issue is the return of Ben Wheatley and Simon Coleby’s stunning “Judge Dee”, picking up the action after ts mid-series break in February. And, blimey! It’s back with a bang!
The demon-possessed psi-operative Dee has discovered a Sov plot to free the spirit of “The Haunting of Sector House 9” psi-perp Leroy Tamerlain from the walls of Bleeke Mansion… Cue the spectral fireworks!
