Will this week’s 2000AD and “Spector” collection blow you away?

2000AD Prog 2429 UK and DIGITAL: 23rd April £3.80 NORTH AMERICA: 4th June $36.00 (Prog Pack) DIAMOND: FEB251945 COVER: Jake Lynch

Jake Lynch pays tribute to a 2000AD legend with this week’s issue of the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, Prog 2429, on sale now, as his cover homages the late Steve Dillon‘s classic work for the Galaxy’s Greatest.

The thrills inside are just as explosive, with the latest instalments of “Judge Dredd”, “Chimpsky’s Law”, “Ghosted” and “Silver”. Plus, to say Dan Cornwell is going all-out on the latest Dredd adventure is an understatement…

Those four stories are joined by a new Thrill, as Rogue Trooper returns to the Prog once more for a new eight-part story “Tides of War” by Andi Ewington and Paul Marshall – and there’s a tantalising tease for a new thrill, “Discarded”, by Peter Milligan and Kieran McKeown, coming soon, too..

Who packs more into thirty pages than Tharg the Mighty? It’s fit to burst!

Also out this week is a new collection, Spector, John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s high-velocity tale of an android cop programmed to clean up a corrupt city. Sadly, this would prove to be Carlos’s final comics work, completing the first two episodes before he passed away in 2018. Dan Cornwell ably stepped in to complete the series, and now you can read the whole story in one volume — a chance to appreciate the enduring skill and nuance of a legendary comics creator.

If you’re in London this weekend, why not celebrate the release of this new collection and pop along to Gosh! on Saturday (26th April), where three titanic creator droids – Dan CornwallMick McMahon and John Wagner will be signing on from 1-2pm. Two brand new 2000AD releases are tge focus of the special event, Sláine: The Definitive Edition and Spector: Incorruptible. Full details here
