As the year draws to a close, Egmont Publishing, pocket.watch and Sunlight Entertainment are celebrating the incredible success of one of Egmont’s 2019 magazine launches, Ryan’s World, a title based on Ryan Kaji, the eight-year old star of the Ryan’s World YouTube channel which attracts 75 million views a month in the UK alone – and in just over four years has amassed over 22 million subscribers.
The combination of Ryan’s undeniable magnetism with his audience and Egmont’s market-leading editorial and commercial expertise led to the title selling an amazing 49,000 copies in the UK of its début issue back in July. In the last two years, only three other new launches have sold more than 30,000 copies in the UK’s fast-moving children’s sector.
The popularity of issue #1 of Ryan’s World magazine grants the title the accolade of being the UK’s biggest children’s magazine launch of 2019 – and the most successful pre-school launch of the last three years.
Egmont says the impact at retail of Ryan’s World magazine has been nothing short of astonishing, with sell-outs of the first issue in high volume mass-market retailers and convenience stores, and issue #2 surpassing the launch issue in selling an amazing 52,000 copies.
Ryan’s World magazine will be seeing out 2019 in style, with its exciting high value wrapped presents issue hitting shelves this week, the perfect gift for children who love Ryan.
With Ryan’s World, Egmont have embraced the digital advances in the world of children’s media and have successfully brought the digital-first brand to life in the magazine, offering high-quality content and cover mounts created with four to six year olds in mind, so the magazine is excitable, light-hearted and fun – just like Ryan.
