Ace cartoonist Steve Beckett has landed a new comics commission – in the first Kerrang Komic, published as part of Britain’s top selling Heavy Metal music magazine.
On sale today, Steve is drawing Muse, who become the victim of their own stupidity.
The massive comic section includes all many music stars as you’ve never seen them before, including Bring Me The Horizon, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, Slash and Biffy Clyro.
Edited by James McMahon, other comic creators involved include Sarah Burgess, Marc Ellerby, John Grieve, Ben Holliday, Phillip Marsden (drawing the MCR strip, about their pet unicorn), Julia Scheele , Jon Scrivens (who provides the cover of the comic), Neil Slorance and Simon Young.
Steve Beckett is also keeping busy with a number of commissions, finishing off the final of three new Brassneck comics for the 2014 Dandy Annual, (“I’m hoping this won’t be my last opportunity to write and draw the metal maniac since his recent reboot over at the brand new digital Dandy,”he says); and working on
new Oscar’s Orc Army for TOXIC magazine.

Rather annoying that as an artist you are only able to put yourself forward for Kerrang commissions via twitter. If you aren’t on Twitter you have zero chance of being involved. Shame.
