Author and comics writer Mike (M.R.) Carey is on tour soon to promote his new novel, Fellside, with events in Liverpool at Waterstones Liverpool (Wednesday 6th April) and the Write Blend bookshop on South Road, Waterloo (Thursday 7th April), Waterstones Deansgate Manchester (Friday 8th April) and Waterstones Birmingham on Saturday 9th April, in conjunction with the Birmingham Comics Festival.
Mike will also be making an appearance at Forbidden Planet in London on Thursday 14th April (6.00 – 7.00pm).
Mike is the writer of some of the most acclaimed comic series of recent years, including Lucifer, Hellblazer, Daredevil, and currently writes two flagship series X-Men and Ultimate Fantastic Four. He’s also written for 2000AD.
His first novel as M.R.Carey, The Girl With All The Gifts was nominated for an award by the British Fantasy Society and is now being made into a film with Glenn Close, Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine.
Mike will be at Write Blend in Liverpool to launch his eagely anticipated new novel Fellside, published by Orbit Books, on the day of its publication.
Fellside is a maximum security prison on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors. It’s not the kind of place you’d want to end up. But it’s where Jess Moulson could be spending the rest of her life.
It’s a place where even the walls whisper.
And one voice belongs to a little boy with a message for Jess.
Will she listen?
Speaking with regards to Mike’s Waterstone’s signing and the Birmingham Comics Festival, Paul H Birch commented: “I am delighted to be working with Waterstones to promote this event, and look forward to developing the festival’s relationship with them and a number of other special parties in the future.”
