Hogdoodle! A cartoon by Hunt Emerson is being auctioned alongside many others in aid of Ryton-based Hope for Hedgehogs, a charity to rescue everyone’s favourite woodland animal. Follow this link and make a bid.
hogdoodle is a collection of hedgehog doodles drawn by well known authors, illustrators, comedians, musicians and celebrities. Their auction will raise vital funds to support Hope for Hedgehogs in their work looking after sick and injured hedgehogs and rehabilitating them back into the wild.
Each #hogdoodle is in itself a bespoke one off piece of art created by someone amazing. Check out the auction here, which includes art by Mike Batt, Jane Hissey, Ian McMillan, Ian Rankin and David Walliams.
Hope for Hedgehogs is a rescue and rehabilitation charity based in Ryton, Gateshead, in the North East England.
Staffed and run entirely by volunteers, they rely on public help and support to help save these beautiful creatures, who are now on the red list and in danger of extinction in the UK.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
