Artist John Patrick Reynolds is offering a limited time discounts on some new licensed, high quality screenprints featuring DC Thomson comic heroes, both humour and adventure characters, in his catalogue.
The new prints feature adventure hero Morgyn the Mighty, pulling a telegraph pole out of the ground to use as a weapon (” “I love his leopard-skin trunks,” says John, “I suppose he’s The Victor‘s version of Tarzan”); Minnie the Minx (“Do what she says, not what she does,” John suggests); and The Bash Street Kids, bringing the ceiling down.
He’s also released two prints featuring characters from the Asterix the Gaul series created by Goscinny and Uderzo. John is the only screenprinter in the UK to work with French publisher Editions Albert Réné to make screenprints of its characters Asterix, Obelix, Getafix and, of course, Dogmatix.
All these prints are 26cms x 19cms, and available at the introductory price of £40 unframed, or £74 framed, a saving of £10, and will remain at these prices until the end of the month. Check out all the prints in this offer here.
Based in London, John Patrick Reynolds was the first screenprinter to get permission from DC Thomson, to use images from its archive of British comic characters from The Beano’s Dennis the Menace, The Bash Street Kids and Minnie the Minx to The Dandy’s Desperate Dan and the Sunday Post’s Oor Wullie and The Broons.
All John’s prints are limited editions, and all are numbered in pencil.
His first, officially licensed range of officially approved screenprints and greetings cards featuring the Moomins, the characters created by Tove Jansson, is still under development and will go into production soon. Here’s a sneak peek, below!
