The first I Love Comics Digital Con, organised by Tony Foster, the man behind ComicScene Magazine and more, takes place this weekend on Facebook (Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th February 2021,from 8.00am to 6.00pm) at the ComicScene Community Facebook Group.
The virtual event is being trailed as a showcase of comics all in one place “with lots of comic chat”.
“ComicScene will be counting down every half hour over the weekend your ‘All TIme 50 Favourite Comic Characters’ as voted by you,” Tony explains.
“Comic Fans can give their views on the Top 50, share what they are reading, recommend comic titles and chat with other comic fans too.
“In between times we invite publishers, small press and indie comic creators and media to chat, preview work, share comics, prints, art, sketches, share web comics, vids, podcasts and blog links in the Community Group.Creators and Dealers can offer items for sale.”
Comic Shops, auction houses and dealers are invited to join in and let fans know the collectable comics and art they have available plus post links to their online stores.
“We expect special offers will be made available all day,” Tony hopes. “Comic Cons are also invited to share their plans for 2021 and cosplayers can share their latest costumes.
“You make the day in one space,” he continues, “but #topics will mean easy navigation on latest posts that interest you and break out rooms will provide opportunities to chat or listen to talks – more details leading up to the event.”
Tony also plans to be offering talks or offer virtual rooms to run a Q&As in one hour limited slots are available from 10.00am – 4.00pm each day. Check the group for more details.
The event is completely free and you can ‘pop in’ at anytime. Anyone who loves comics can attend, share, like and comment at any time.
“We look forward to you sharing your love about comics,” says Tony.
