Inside Action: Twit of the Week

Doctor Who was just one "twit of the Week" as far as Action readers were concerned.

Doctor Who was just one “twit of the Week” as far as Action readers were concerned.

Twit of the Week was Action’s regular chance for readers to spotlight people in the media, who they thought were in some way ridiculous. Each twit, usually the one who managed to garner the most votes each week, was pictured in the ‘TOTW’ frame with a reader’s letter of nomination next to them.

Twit of the Week ran from the 6th March 1976 issue onwards, although nominations were invited from the very first issue. In all there were 23 pre-ban recipients of the award, one lucky individual having the award bestowed upon them twice. Below are those lucky few.
