Luis Guaragna is a freelance Italian-Argentinian comic artist, illustrator, and game designer living in Tromsø, Norway. His many credits include work for MayDay Comics, Kick-Ass Comics, Dynamite Entertainment and StormKing Comics.
Some of his work includes these terrific pages for US publisher Stormking Comics John Carpenter’s HalloweeNight project.
Born in 1973, Luis, a client of the Radebu Comic Book Author Agency, has been working in comics and illustrations for several years and for many different countries around the world. His work has been published in Argentina, Brazil, France, the United States, Britain, Denmark, Spain and Sweden.
Credits include work for GoreGoyles, for Canadian publisher 13 Publications, Mortal Kombat, for MayDay Comics in Argentina), Strangeways for US publishers Speakeasy Comics and Highway 62, Red Sonja and Vampirella meet Betty and Veronica #5, for Dynamite Entertainment, Super Scrap Squad for Norway’s Pluspoint Press and John Carpenter’s HalloweeNight Volume 3 for StormKing Comics.
Storm King Comics, formed in 2012 as a division of Storm King Productions, is headed by writer/producer and editor Sandy King. Along with her husband, director John Carpenter, King focuses on bringing the best writers from the worlds of comics, movies and novels together to bring their special brand of horror and sci-fi entertainment to comics.
Their flagship comic book title, John Carpenter’s Asylum, has become a global fan favourite, followed by the award-winning annual anthology, John Carpenter’s HalloweeNight, and the monthly anthology series, John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction.
More recent additions to the Storm King brand are John Carpenter’s Night Terrors, and John Carpenter Presents Storm Kids, introducing horror and SF to younger audiences.

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
