Here’s a fun, faux, Doctor Who comic cover we thought you’d enjoy, by John Charles, a fine colourist and comic artist I’ve known for some years now – and currently seeking work.
John has been into comics since he was twelve and is now a professional comic book artist, colourist and Lecturer in Comic Book Art at Staffordshire University.
Along the way, he’s been a graphic designer for Trident Comics, drawn and digitally painted covers and illustrated some “Future Shocks” for 2000AD, pencilled for Marvel UK, provided cover art for Antarctic Press in the US, and coloured Spectacular Spider-Man and a variety of other strips for Panini UK’s Marvel Heroes comic.
He also co-wrote a three-part story for them, back when Panini could originate new stories, co-starring Spider-Man and the X-Men.
Most recently, he’s provided colouring for Boom Studios on their ‘Extermination’ comic and illustrated a Judge Dredd comic book cover for IDW.
