The cast of Sil and the Devil Seeds of Arodor, led by Nabil Shaban as Sil

Reeltime Pictures have announced two gala premieres for their new SF series Sil and the Devil Seeds of Arodor starring Doctor Who villain Sil, the deliciously wicked character created by Philip Martin and played by Nabil Shaban.

Sil and the Devil Seeds of Arodor is an independent production written by Philip Martin and directed by Keith Barnfather, centring on the alien entrepreneur first seen in the Sixth Doctor story Vengeance on Varos.

Alongside Nabil, Chris Ryan also reprises his role as Sil’s boss, Kiv, and former Doctor Who companion Sophie Aldred plays an alien.

Due for release on DVD and limited edition Blu-Ray on 4th November by Koch Media, there will be two gala premieres for this brand new four part series.

In the series, Sil is worried. Very worried, in fact, which doesn’t keep his reptilian skin in the best condition! Confined in a cold detention cell on the moon, awaiting a deportation hearing for trial on drugs offences on Earth, he faces a death sentence if the application is successful and he is found guilty. And his employers at the Universal Monetary Fund aren’t pleased either. Not at all.

As time runs out and friends desert him, Sil must use all of his devious, vile, underhanded, ruthless, and amoral business acumen to survive. Can he possibly slime his way out of this one?

You can meet the entire cast, writer Philip Martin and major crew at the Rudolf Steiner House Theatre in London on 3rd November, get their autographs and have a photocall with everyone plus see the actual costumes for Sil and Kiv.

There will be a full cinema screening at QUAD in Derby on 8th November, where Philip, Sophie and Keith will be in attendance.

There will be exclusive offers and discounts at both events.

John Freeman

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.

Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.

He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
