Brains in jars? All-out robot battles? creeping horror in Mega-City One? if only one of those concepts tickles your fancy, then it’s more than enough for you to pick up 2000AD Prog 2070, which comes with a thoroughly spooky, haunting cover from Dave Taylor.
Judge Dredd is investigating weirdness thats arrived, Quatermass-style, in a ship frm space, and the body count is climbing already. I’m getting the sense from Ian Edginton’s script that we may have an ememy here that could yet be on a par with the Dark Judges once revealed, and i hope I’m not being misled.
Meanwhile, there’s an absolutely stonking episode of A.B.C. Warriors to savour with Clint Langley simply knocking it out of the park as we head toward — possibly — a finale that just might see the end of a ling-running character. You can feel metal clang on metal as the Warriors clash with other killer robots.
There’s no shortage of action in “Savage“, either, as a desperate escape takes a bad turn. smashing black and white art from Patrick Goddard complements Pat Mills script perfectly.
Given all the gloriously crazed gun-toting action in “Bad Company”, the only quiet moments this issue are in “Brass Sun”, beautifully rendered by INJ Culbard, and even there the peace as characters catch up is not going to last.
