Love Comics? This is your chance to enjoy an eclectic mix of original comic art that will impress and inspire most comics’ fans, with a free exhibition of comic art at Preston’s Harris Museum in Lancashire, brought to the city in partnership with Seven Stories.
The exhibition will be launched with a special Comics Day launch in Preston’s Flag Market, organised by the family-run That Comic Shop.
See Desperate Dan and Dennis the Menace as they were drawn in the 1940s and 50s; find old friends like Oor Wullie, Minnie the Minx and Roy of the Rovers; imagine yourself on an adventure with Dan Dare from Eagle.
The exhibition features Captain America, Wonder Woman, Superman and Hulk as drawn by British artist Ian Churchill. Ian works for Marvel and DC Comics, America’s largest comic corporations.
That Comic Shop is hosting a free special launch day celebration of comics from 12 noon – 4.00pm on Saturday 23rd June in Preston’s Flag Market and the Harris Museum. Get along fancy dress (if desired) to see lots of wonderful comic-related stalls, artists at work, kids comic crafts, drawing boards, artwork and cosplayers.
There’s lots to see and do with a choice of food vendors on the market too. Fun for all ages!
Look out for family events taking place throughout the exhibition.
