Issue 533 of the Doctor Who Appreciaton Society’s Celestial Toyroom title is on the way, the cover by Reece Connolly, a smashing homage to a Marvel UK special from the 1990s – and there’s another Doctor Who Magazine connection this issue, too.
Guest edited by actor Richard Unwin, co-ordinator of the Sisters of Karn, the long-running LGBT Doctor Who group, this issue features a cover by Reece Connolly inspired by Lee Sullivan’s cover for the Marvel UK’s 1991 Doctor Who Summer Special.
Contributors include actresses Sophie Aldred, Nicola Bryant and Katy Manning, plus Beth Axford, author of the Doctor Who Quiz Book, out next month, technical writer and journalist Mat Greenfield, and the fan fiction author known as teganandsarahj.
This month’s Celestial Toyroom also contains another postcard in the Society’s ongoing collection. This one, of the Kandyman from The Happiness Patrol, is by Doctor Who Magazine legend, writer, artist and former strip editor, Scott Gray, who reveals “this one was so much fun to draw.”
If you join the DWAS now, you will be in time to receive this edition with the postcard. (The black text on this promotional image is not inlcuded with the physical printed product).
