US publisher Gemstone reports the second book in the new Overstreet “How To” series is off to the printer.
The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comic & Animation Art, with a Silver Surfer #1 recreation cover by renowned painter Joe Jusko, was offered in the August 2013 issue of PREVIEWS from Diamond Comic Distributors. Retailers can still place re-orders for it.
With record prices established on a regular basis, Gemstone enthuse that the market for original comic art has never been more compelling and now a resurgent animation art market is commanding attention as well.
If those areas of collecting seem daunting, The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comic & Animation Art is a great place to start. While we'd expect the title to be pretty US-oriented, we also know there are plenty of British collectors of comic book art that might find this a useful guide.
The second book in the new Overstreet “How To” series offers the terminology you need to know along with the expertise of seasoned collectors and dealers who will help you get to know what to look for and how to look for it.
“We'd like to thank all of the industry experts who really participated in this book, particularly including Joe Mannarino from All Star Auctions and Ron Stark from S/R Labs, who contributed critical sections of the book,” said J.C. Vaughn, Vice-President of Publishing for Gemstone Publishing.
“The Overstreet Advisors who actively participated in this book really provided a lot of insight into the market, as well. We have been running their market reports here in Scoop and we still have a few more to go,” he added.
The book is due on sale 9th October 2013.
