The first issue of The77 – the great new British retro comics anthology – 64 pages from new talent and established creators – is available to order now from GetMyComics.
Shipping next week for release on 16th May. The77 will be released quarterly, and the next issue is already underway.
downthetubes has had a sneak peek at the debut issue and it has some fine strips in its lineup, which include “Temporal Anarchy”, by Alan Holloway, Neil Sims and Bolt-01, “Tinkling Triangles”, featuring planet Earth’s sonorous superstar family by Steve MacManus, Brendon Wright and Fillipo Roncone, the dark but entrancing fairy story “The Prodigal” by Mal Earl, “TechnoFreak” by Joe Assi, John Charles, Tom Newell and Nikki Foxrobot, the brilliant “The Screaming Hand!” by Kek-W, Conor Boyle and Annie Parkhouse – and much, oh, so much more! Look out for a review soon.
GetMyComics has some other fine independent comics on offer, too, including ComicScene Magazine #13, a Dan Dare 70th anniversary celebration, that won’t be in newsagents till July at the earliest; and Sentinel, a new digest sized sci-fi/ horror/ fantasy series of single issue stories – an homage to Commando comic’s much-missed SF counterpart, Starblazer (Issue two is coming next month – you can read the downthetubes review of #1 here).
Plus, don’t forget To The Death – the Coronavirus Pandemic-inspired “Iso-Pack” of the complete 10-issue series from Death’s Head creators Simon Furman and Geoff Senior is only available till the end of the week. A storming cerebral action adventure!
Two gorgeous-looking slipcases to house the complete run will also be available separately at the end of the week.
