Star Wars: Clone Wars and How To Train Your Dragon artist Tanya Roberts will be at Thought Bubble in Leeds promoting her brand new comic Hamster Punk. This came out of a meeting between Tanya and writer Anthony Jones at Thought Bubble back in 2012 and, published under the Arcana imprint, the comic will debut at this weekend’s Thought Bubble.
Using Tanya’s animation style artwork, Hamster Punk tells Ant’s tale of four cybernetically enhanced pets, a dog called Maxine, a bird called Gibson, a frog called Farley and of course a hamster called Johnny, who set out to rescue their owners after they were taken hostage by Dr Sakana of the Sterling Corporation. It sounds like a fun, all ages version of Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s much darker WE3.
Tanya Roberts and Anthony Jones’ sales table will be in Thought Bubble’s New Dock Hall where Tanya will also have copies of her own The Forgotten Muse and her collaboration with Gary Chudleigh, Plagued: The Miranda Chronicles which we reviewed here on downthetubes. In addition she will have pages of published artwork for sale as well as taking commissions over the weekend.
