Asmodee Entertainement strikes major licensing deal for its Twilight Imperium game and more

Nottingham-based Event Merchandising Limited and top games maker Asmodee Entertainment have entered a licensing partnership to bring online one-stop-shops for all things merchandise for Fantasy Flight Games Studio’s Arkham Horror, Legend of the Five Rings and Twilight Imperium to fans in across the globe.

Initially opening in the UK in the final quarter of 2021 these online stores will feature specially designed apparel, accessories and homewares such as pillows and mugs. The first of these launches is planned for later this year and products will be available online. Fans can expect more exciting products to be added to the stores regularly after launch.

The partnership is an example of Asmodee Entertainment’s aim to push to expand the merchandise offerings available to fans of some of their biggest hobby game brands.

The Arkham Horror range includes the Third Edition of the cooperative board game for one to six players who take on the roles of investigators trying to rid the world of eldritch beings known as Ancient Ones. Based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft, players will have to gather clues, defeat terrifying monsters, and find tools and allies if they are to stand any chance of defeating the creatures that dwell just beyond the veil of our reality.

Twilight Imperium has thrilled gamers for two decades with its grand storytelling and tactical strategy, today offering both a an epic game of galactic conquest for three to six players and a range of fiction tie-ins has also been launched, published by Aconyte Books.

In the Twilight Imperium Fourth Edition, each player takes command of one of seventeen unique civilizations to compete for interstellar supremacy through warfare, trade, uncertain allegiances, and political dominance. Every faction offers a completely different play experience, from the wormhole-hopping Ghosts of Creuss to the Emirates of Hacan, masters of trade and economics. These seventeen races are offered many paths to victory, but only one may sit upon the throne of Mecatol Rex, as the new masters of the galaxy.

The Legend of the Five Rings offers a adventure in the world of Rokugan, where mortal schemes, natural calamities, and celestial turmoil alike have disrupted the political, military, and spiritual equilibrium of the land. The Chrysanthemum Throne is beset by threats from without and within, and the honor of the seven Great Clans shall be put to the test. Who among the clans will prove strong enough to guide Rokugan in these tumultuous times?

“These are exciting times for us and for fans of these brands,” says Alexander Thieme, Licensing Manager for Consumer Goods and Publishing at Asmodee Entertainment. “For over two decades these three rich and fascinating universes have gathered fans who cherish diving into adventures in these worlds – they are a true passion for many and part of their identity.

“It’s about time that we enabled them to express their fandom beyond the games. Novels from Aconyte made a start of this expansion, merchandise now follows. And we couldn’t have found a better partner for this than EML!

Jeremy Goldsmith of Event Merchandising said “Asmodee have created amazing, captivating content and artwork and we are delighted to be designing and operating the online store for Arkham Horror, Legend of the Five Rings, and Twilight Imperium along with a selection of key product lines.”
