Small Press Day, a celebration of self-publishing, DIY culture, and grassroots comics across the UK and Ireland is back for a third outing on Saturday 7th July 2018. More information will be revealed soon.
In 2016, an idea born on Twitter led to a series of nationwide events in a matter of weeks. The inaugural Small Press Day – a celebratory event designed to spotlight the possibilities of small press publishing and to introduce its practitioners to the far wider audience they deserve – proved to be a phenomenal success.
In 2016, no less than 25 events championing the small press were held across the UK and Ireland on the same day – including shop signings, fairs, panels and workshops – resulting in #SmallPressDay to trend throughout – and it grew further last year.
This year SPD is back looking to build on its first two years, with events being lined up at at one of the comic stores/venues across the UK, offering many opportunities to meet the next generation of superstar comic creators, zine makers, and DIY micro publishers.
