The latest edition of the action-packed Quantum anthology from Birmingham-based Time Bomb Comics is on its way. #7 stars the Clockwork Cavalier, and arrives in selected newsagent and comic shops on Thursday 18th April.
Quantum is available in newsagents across the UK and select international retailers, in a continuing effort by Time Bomb to reach a new audience.
The Clockwork Cavalier, created by publisher Steve Tanner, first appeared in a six-page black and white complete short story in Book One of Time Bomb’s unique historical anthology series Flintlock (itself a successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2016). In that tale, set in 1753, little was revealed about this mysterious clockwork automaton beyond that he had been recruited into the world’s first organised police force – the Bow Street Runners – to help them fight crime in 18th Century London.
Despite the mystery surrounding the Cavalier’s origins, or perhaps because of it, Flintlock’s cogwheeled conundrum was received with enthusiasm, but this clockpunk-infused crime fighter was always intended to be much more than just a supporting character and has since become a major part of the publisher’s lineup
Time Bomb Comics is a British comics company created back in 2007, that publishes comics and graphic novels, including the popular Flintlock and Brawler anthology series, and the recently-published Gerry Anderson Spectrum anthology. From historical horror to mind-bending science-fiction, each release is a complete story by talented creators.
Their books are about delivering good solid comic book entertainment, featuring stories from exciting newcomers to established professionals our artists and writers, united with a single aim – Telling Great Stories.
Expect comics released under the Time Bomb Comics banner to be wide and diverse in theme, genre and format, and with only a single limitation – the imagination of the creative teams.
