Cubicle 7’s Doctor Who Time Clash Starter Set card game has been selling out in hobby stores, and hot on the heel of its success, the company has revealed it will release Doctor Who Time Clash: Against the Cybermen, its first expansion, in May.
Launched last year, in Doctor Who Time Clash – a fast and fun, and with nine game included in the starter set, offering huge replay value – the Doctor and the Daleks wage a desperate struggle for the fate of the universe itself. You play cards representing plans, threats, tech, and quips to stacks that represent the time of the struggle, the Doctor’s companion, and the enemy’s influence.
The two sides also compete to control the Doctor’s location, which activates or deactivates crucial powers.
During the game’s build-up segment, each side tries to establish an advantage. When the balance tips and the endgame comes, they press for victory. Either one of the Doctor’s desperate gambits will succeed, or the Daleks’ pressing threats will crush him…
The new Cybermen expansion, designed by Jeff Tidball (Horus Heresy, World of Warcraft: The Adventure Game), features the Eleventh Doctor and requires the recently released base starter set. It adds nine game Arcs, 48 cards, counters, baggies, and a rulesheet.
New Hybrid cards and March tokens add to gameplay.
