Courtesy of Dark Horse, we have a special treat for you – an exclusive cover reveal for the final issue of Norse Mythology III, written by Neil Gaiman and P. Craig Russell, with interior art from Galen Showman, on sale in July from all good comic shops.
The covers on this issue are provided by P. Craig Russell with Lovern Kindzierski, with a Variant Cover by David Mack.
In Norse Mythology, New York Times bestselling author Neil Gaiman and Eisner Award-winning comics legend P. Craig Russell breathe new life into the ancient Norse stories by taking readers through the creation of the Nine Worlds to the epic origin and adventures of Thor, Odin, and Loki all the way to the end of life -Ragnarök.
In this latest series, the sea giant Aegir avoids having to throw a banquet for the gods by setting Thor and Tyr off on a wild quest to find a cauldron and pitting the heroes against a multi-headed giantess, fire-breathing sea serpents, and more bizarre mythological creatures.
In the finale of Ragnarok: The Final Destiny of the Gods, artist P. Craig Russell illustrates the death of the gods, the end of the world, its renewal, and concludes the epic run of Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology.
Launched back in 2020, Norse Mythology has spanned three well-received series, 18 issues in total, adapting of Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name into comic book form. The book has also previously been adapted by the BBC as an audio drama.
This final arc has seen artists Colleen Doran (Snow, Glass, Apples, Chivalry), the artist and co-creator behind the Eisner Award and Bram Stoker Award-winning graphic novel adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Snow, Glass, Apples, P. Craig Russell (American Gods, The Sandman), and Galen Showman (Hellboy: Weird Tales, The Graveyard Book) tackle some of the most iconic stories in Norse Mythology.
“I fell in love with the Norse gods from reading about them in comics as a boy, so it’s only fitting that they return to the medium that started it,” said creator Neil Gaiman back in 2020. “I cannot wait to see P. Craig Russell and his collaborators tell the old stories for a new generation.”
