Free events and activity for all the family (even if they’re not all in to comics) will take place in the Comics Family Zone at The Westmorland Shopping Centre and Kendal Library during the Lakes International Comic Art Festival in October.
From cartoon strips to superhero comics, manga to graphic novels – come and find your favourites or discover new ones!
Guests also appearing at the Family Zone events include: girls comics expert Dr Mel Gibson, Paul Register and the Stan Lee Excelsior Awards, The Phoenix Comic Creation Centre, comics artist writer and publisher Tim Perkins, comics artist Dave Windett, Perfect Spiral, Colin Shelbourn and Evsie.
There will also be drop-in activity sessions, signings and sketchings and much more with leading comics creators and publishers from around the world. Plus competitions, face-painting (adults too!) and more.
Three fantastic free events will also take place at Kendal Library: The Beano panel, a panel with Trina Robbins and a preview of Mary and Bryan Talbot and Kate Charlesworth’s new graphic novel.
Fuller details and a timetable will be available on the LICAF website in September 2013.
