PressPad adds Android to its digital self-publishing service for comic creators

PressPad Comics PortalPressPad, a relatively new self service tablets and smartphones publishing startup which has recently begun offering its iPad publishing service to comic creators, has just announced the impending arrival of support for publishing to the Android platform.

While the lion’s share of digital comic revenue generation remains firmly via iPad, PressPad says Android support has aroused great interest among the publishers and their current clients, and, combined together with what they feel is their innovative business model offering support for it is a great fit for growing popularity of digital publishing among small and medium companies as well as single writers and authors.

PressPad’s aim is to deliver content to the biggest mobile platforms in the World and by offering both Android and iOS support, clients do not have to choose which system to favour.

The company offers to create a free digital app in return for receipt of initial revenues – after that level is achieved, sales income goes straight to creators and publishers

“Publishers signing up for mobile apps with PressPad can speed time to market tenfold,” said a spokesperson, “don’t have to deal with technology issues, app stores policies, and are able to dive into mobile publishing without any upfront investment.

PressPad aim to launch support for Android platforms on 31st October as a “natural addition to the currently supported Apple mobile devices

“From that moment every publisher and writer will be able to conquer Google Play Store with magazine or comic book application.”

If you create your own online comic and you’re wondering how to reach Apple device users with it, this article on the company’s blog will give you some tips on what to focus your attention on while creating a PDF file which they will then process at PressPad into a native iPad application, free of charge.
