It’s a New Year for The Twelfth Doctor, and writer Robbie Morrison is back on board for the book, joined by terrific artist Rachael Stott as regular artist. It’s a terrific opener for a new story, with the creative team firing on all cylinders.
On sale from tomorrow in all good comic shops, “Clara Oswald and the School of Death” (Part One) has all the makings of a classic Who horror mystery, set in a Scottish boarding school that has both some singularly unpleasant staff and other menaces to contend with.
As usual, we’re spoilt for choice in terms of cover options and the story itself is a real treat right from the opening pages, as the Doctor’s bests an angry alien mercenary in the opening scenes of this new issue while downing a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.
Wonderfully realised throughout by Stott, as the story progresses we’re Robbie delivers some great scenes between Clara and the Doctor and there’s lots of creepy old-school Who horror moments, too. Great stuff!
