Our Friends Arachnid
By Alan Henderson
Our Friends Arachnid is a collection of short and poetically told children’s stories by Alan Henderson about spiders which is getting a release at the upcoming Lakes International Comic Art Festival. Friendly spiders, of course, who have adventures like visiting the ‘Muffet household’, or taking part in scientific experiments with a boy called Peter, climbing up and down pipes and encountering kings hiding in caves (amongst other great tales).
Yes, all the great spider inspired stories are featured in this neatly and lovingly illustrated book.
After breaking a few readers (and at least one reviewers) heart with his book on abandoned teddy bears, Alan is back with a clever and funny childrens book featuring spiders of all walks of life and personalities. Less cuddly and slightly more active than your average bear these are stories with a lot of heart and character. We see all those areas of ‘spider fiction’ covered with an eye for the younger reader.
Have a look at a couple of preview pages we have shared below. It’s told in cracking rhyme and a twinkle in the eye.
