Oldham Comic Con, taking place 12th May, is a free comics-oriented event in Oldham Library, drawing on mainly comic creator talent in the North West, including Manchester.
if you’re a 2000AD fan, there’s plenty to interest you based on the guest list, which include Judge Dredd creators Carlos Ezquerra and John Wagner, Dan Cornell, Patrick Goddard, David Roach, Dave Taylor and many more of Tharg’s droids – alongside the likes of Neil Edwards, The Etherington Brothers, Sarah Millman, Nigel Parkinson, John Royle, Lew Stringer and many, many more, listed below.
“The focus is on reading, writing, publishing and drawing,” says organiser Dennis Whittle, “with an emphasis on comics, fantasy, SF and horror.”
Dennis, a lifelong comics fan, tells us that the library has around 3000 visits on a regular Saturday, so it could be a busy day.
