The second episode of the CompareTheMarket Meerkat Movies comic has just been launched online , written and illustrated by DC legends Tony Bedard and Neal Adams – and there’s a competition to win a very limited edition hardback of the story, too.
As we previously reported, Meerkat Movies: A Heroic Journey, available now to read online or download sees meerkats Aleksandr and Sergei causing havoc on the streets of Los Angeles, dressed up as their favourite superhero counterparts, Batman and Superman. It’s probably, for some, the very best thing to come out of the Batman versus Superman tie-in promotions.
“If you enjoy Part 1 of our Meerkat Movies comic: A Heroic Journey, I am excite to announce Part 2 is arrive!” Aleksandr tells us. “See if Sergei’s costume really have super strength and managed not to crack under pressure. Click cover to check it out, or download PDF for better view of my amazing six pack in spandex.”
There are only 200 copies of the limited edition comic up for grabs, so make sure you don’t miss out.
The project’s writer, Antony “Tony” J. L. Bedard is a writer and editor who has worked in the comic book industry from the early 1990s through the present. He is best known for his work at CrossGen Comics, and for his run writing Marvel Comics X-Men spin-off Exiles. He’s described working with the Meerkats as “One of the strangest, funnest things I’ve ever worked on.”
Neal Adams, the artist on this fun project, should need no introduction to downthetubes readers. He is well known for helping to create some of the definitive modern imagery of the DC Comics characters Superman, Batman, and Green Arrow; and as the co-founder of the graphic design studio Continuity Associates; and as a creators-rights advocate who helped secure a pension and recognition for Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
