Here’s a lovely little ad for a free Edinburgh International Book Festival Unbound event in the Spiegeltent yesterday – The Phoenix Rises.
Unbound revellers were treated to some late night antics from gladiatorial Gary Northfield (creator of “Julius Zebra”), caped comic crusader Laura Ellen Anderson (the brains behind “Evil Emperor Penguin”), adventurer extraordinaire Jamie Littler (“Cogg & Sprokit”), Cloud Rider Zak Simmonds-Hurn (“Simon Swift”) and deadly “Corpse Talk” creator Adam Murphy.
The event is one of a number of “Unbound” events running through the rest of August – full details here. You’re invited to pitch up, grab a drink from the bar, take a seat and sit back as an entertaining evening of word-play, music, laughs and much more besides unfolds.
“Taking place every evening from 14–29 Aug in our Spiegeltent, each night of Unbound is different and anything goes. Expect surprises; don’t expect a conventional book event. Over 18s only.” (Which seems a bizarre coda for some events involving a children’s comic, you may want to check on that!).
With thanks to Jeremy Briggs
