ITV Studios Global Entertainment has detailed the world premiere of a new live interactive theatrical event, Thunderbirds: Beyond the Horizon.
Based on the original series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, the event gives audiences access to the world of International Rescue, created by Limelight Productions, the team behind Alice’s Adventures Underground, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child and Secret Cinema: back to the Future.
Performances will begin from 7th November this year at The Buzz Theatre at Mercato Metropolitano in London. In addition to the live interactive theatre show, there will be retail and dining offerings for visitors.
“This is an exciting new iteration of the Thunderbirds brand that will allow visitors to actually be immersed in the secret world of International Rescue,” says Trudi Hayward, SVP global head of merchandise at ITVS GE, “and we know that the experts at Limelight Productions and ebp will bring that world to life in incredible and remarkable ways through this interactive theatrical experience.”
Richard Lewis from Limelight Productions, added: “Three years ago, I began a journey with ITV which will culminate this autumn in the opportunity to experience the world of International Rescue.
“My ambition has always been to have our audiences experience the visceral feeling of being rescued by a Thunderbird. It’s not an easy task, so much so that we have had to build our own venue in London to do so.
“Our extraordinarily experienced creative team is bursting with ideas and passion to make my ambition our reality. I can’t wait.”
