Titan Comics will relaunch its Doctor Who title as Doctor Who Comic in November, just ahead of the show’s anniversary. #1 features not only the current Doctor, played on screen by Jodie Whittaker, but the Tenth too, as played by David Tennant – and the return of the Sea Devils.
Written by Jody Houser with art by Roberta Ingranata, the first issue of the new series, on sale in comic shops from 18th November 2020, sees the Tenth and Thirteenth Doctor teaming up once again, after narrowly escaping the Weeping Angels and the Autons in 1960s London, to save present-day Earth from being overrun by the Sea Devils.
The relaunch comes with covers from Peach Momoko (Cover A), Photo Cover (B) Christopher Jones (C) Mirka Andolfo (D) Rachael Stott (E) – and a Blank Sketch (F), the latter an indication that someone at Titan is optimistic enough to feel there will be some events in November where they can be employed!
The Sea Devils first appeared in the eponymous story first screened in the UK in 1972, pitting the Third Doctor and companion Jo Grant, not only against the land-based Silurians amphibian relations but the Master, too.
This time out, the Sea Devils are again seeking to take over the Earth, a battle that involves a human resistance force led by none other than Rose Tyler.
November also sees the release of Titan’s first Time Lord Victorious trade paperback, collecting Doctor Who Time Lord Victorious #1-2; a thrilling new adventure for the Tenth Doctor that sees the shocking return of his deadliest enemies: the Daleks! But things aren’t what they seem – time is all wrong, and something is coming that terrifies even the Daleks…

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
