Wojtek Fus, a Freelance Concept Artist at MPC, has shared some of his concepts of an ancient “Surge Point” station featured an episode of the Netflix show, Love Death and Robots, based on a short SF story by British author Alistair Reynolds.
Love Death and Robots is a collection of animated short stories produced by directors David Fincher and Tim Miller, that span various genres including science fiction, fantasy, horror and comedy, with some adult themes and scenes.
In Beyond The Aquila Rift, awakening after traveling light years off course, a ship’s crew struggles to discover just how far they’ve come. It’s a pretty mind-bending tale with some great effects sequences, based on the story by top SF author Alistair Reynolds, starring Henry Douthwaite, Madeleine Knight and Rebecca Banatvala.
“Adding some extra animations to explain how it moves always helps the team understand the character of a structure,” notes Wojtek of the designs.
Wojtek Fus is a young Polish concept designer who’s been working on film and AAA video game projects since late 2011. He’s been involved in a wide range of productions providing a variety of work such as concept design, environment design and matte painting.
Some of work includes The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Detroit: Become Human and more. Over the past three years, he’s been working closely with many studios , including Sony Pictures, MPC and Disney/Lucasfilm.
Together with fellow artist Jonas De Ro and Darek Zabrocki he launched Level Up, a highly successful, free, online learning platform that connected over 120,000 artist on their journey to become professional. He’s also co-founder of the online photo database for artists, Photobash.org

The founder of downthetubes, which he established in 1998. John works as a comics and magazine editor, writer, and on promotional work for the Lakes International Comic Art Festival. He is currently editor of Star Trek Explorer, published by Titan – his third tour of duty on the title originally titled Star Trek Magazine.
Working in British comics publishing since the 1980s, his credits include editor of titles such as Doctor Who Magazine, Babylon 5 Magazine, and more. He also edited the comics anthology STRIP Magazine and edited several audio comics for ROK Comics. He has also edited several comic collections, including volumes of “Charley’s War” and “Dan Dare”.
He’s the writer of “Pilgrim: Secrets and Lies” for B7 Comics; “Crucible”, a creator-owned project with 2000AD artist Smuzz; and “Death Duty” and “Skow Dogs” with Dave Hailwood.
