Lancaster-based comic creators Steve Gregson and Matt Simmons have created a daft homage to the 1980’s action figure craze with Bastard Galaxia, centring on a maniacal bad guy that wouldn’t look out of place on Adult Swim (some of the strip definitely isn’t for the kind of young audience who might watch He-Man or Thundercats).
On offer to backers is a 96-page graphic novel about Space Pirates, Evil Villains, Heroic Dudes, Selling out, the 1980’s and Action Figures, in chich the titular Bastard Galaxia is trying to convince his crew that he hasn’t sold out, even though his latest ideas all revolve around taking down one particular hero, wearing cool costumes, and using toy grade weaponry…
“We’ve hit our target for a physical collection of the first three chapters of Bastard Galaxia, but we’re reaching for stretch goals,” Steve tells us, “One of which will be a free upgrade to a hardcover, but we’re still working out the costs!”
The team has come up with all sorts of cool merchandise (as you might expect for a comic inspired by toys!) available for people who still want to just read the strip online.

Bastard Galaxia Trading Cards . Just like a genuine pack from 1987, you won’t know whats on them all 5 until you receive them! (Temp artwork shown, but expect 5 cards all related to past and upcoming story events!)

Left to Right: Bastard Galaxis Enamel Pin, Vinyl Sticker and Patch designs!
I’m more than happy to shamelessly help plug this crazy comic and help Steve and Matt get it in front of as many comic fans as possible
