The team over at the fabulous Broken Frontier web site, along with over 40 incredibly talented creators, have just launched an ambitious Kickstarter campaign to raise $58,000 for a massive anthology featuring 27 stories, celebrating the unlimited storytelling possibilities of creator-owned comics.
The project’s amazing lineup from across the globe includes British creators such as INJ Culbard, Karrie Fransman, David Hine, EdieOP, Alison Sampson and Mark Stafford, and US creators such as Cullen Bunn, Nathan Fox, Toby Cypress and Box Brown to bright young talent like Carla Berrocal and Britain’s Jamie Coe.
“The book has everything,” enthuse Portland-based project managers, Tyler & Wendy Chin-Tanner, who founded A Wave Blue World in 2005 in order to create and publish independent comics and graphic novels. Tyler, who writes for Broken Frontier, is a graduate of The Kubert School and is the author of two graphic novels, Adrenaline and American Terrorist as well as the upcoming collection of short stories, Loved & Lost. Wendy is the author of the poetry collection “Turn,” an Oregon Book Award finalist, and founding editor at Kin Poetry Journal.
“The last man in the galaxy? Check! An immortal on the edges of the universe? You bet! Cosmic horror on previously unimagined scale? Of course! The list goes on: Time travel, dystopian deserts, bewildered Vikings stumbling upon the supernatural. Yes, Vikings, because why the hell not?!”
You’ll also see some dimension hopping, an existential murder mystery, a man digging to the center of the Earth… and much more!
