Celebrating the Thirteenth Doctor’s first season, Panini UK have released a new-look Doctor Who Adventures Special, on sale now in all good newsagents and supermarkets across the UK, priced £3.99, alongside the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine.
Aimed at 7-11-year-old Doctor Who fans and those new to the series, this 36-page cosmic magazine includes a new comic strip drawn by DWA regular Russell Leach and plenty of features – did-you-knows, quizzes, puzzles, posters and a galactic pull-out calendar wall-chart.
The fresh-look issue also includes 100 bold and bright stickers and four Limited Edition postcards.
Doctor Who Adventures went “on hiatus” in 2017, but there were suggestions it might return. Judging from online reaction and the number of hits for a promotional video on social media, there’s clearly interest, but with no new episodes until next year, we would imagine any revival is, at this point, unlikely.
Meanwhile, Doctor Who Magazine Issue 534 is on sale now, and along with its usual mix of features, brings the title’s first Thirteenth Doctor comic strip, “The Warmonger” to a terrific finale.
Inside, Fourth Doctor Tom Baker answers questions from our TARDIS tin; there’s an interview with Doctor Who author James Goss, who helped Tom writeScratchman; actor Shaun Dooley (who played Epzo in 2018 episode The Ghost Monument) reveals his photographic contribution to Series 11; a look at BBC Audio’s resurrection of the 1970s Dalek Annuals.
Plus, the Time Team watches three episodes – from 2007, 1966 and 1987 – which introduce new companions and don’t forget there’s a new Who cartoon strip from Lew Stringer, too!
